I am 42 year old female (soon to be 43). A little over year ago I went to GP with a list (paper list) of symptoms to discuss, suspecting perimenopause. I came across different kind of stories on line, many not positive, so wanted to be prepared.

I was lucky enough to see female doctor who didn’t suggest antidepressants, as some of them do…and didn’t question my suspicion but to ensure there was no other underlying condition, she said “let’s go looking” and suggested blood tests and ultrasound. Blood test indicated deficiency (vit D, B12, Iron) but other than this, I was in a good health.

Whilst Dr I spoke with was helpful and gave me a bit of reassurance, there was not much direction or guidance on what could I do next to improve quality of my life, my worst of all symptoms, the fatigue, continued…

There are some things that are outside of our control, like aging, inefficient national health system, to a degree the external environment but equally there are things we can manage better as it is within our own gift to keep active, have healthy and balanced diet, educate ourselves and raise our own awareness.

I decided to start writing blog, for my own benefit but also for the benefit of others.

You will not find me on social media platforms, I lead my “personal war “with social media platforms and try my hardest to keep away from all of them, to stay away from the garbage, negativity and misinformation they contain….
